New Branch Manager of Colombo
With the wave of accomplishments the Java Institute for Advanced Technology has been able to proficiently acquire, a highly beneficial change in the Branch Management took place in the first week of July 2016. The Upper Management of the Java Institute arrived at the significant decision of appointing a new Branch Manager to the Institute's prolific Colombo Branch. The newly appointed Branch Manager is a professional with decades of experience and he has been able to achieve a voluminous number of accomplishments in the Sri Lankan Army. Accordingly, Major Malinda Samaraweera received the letter of appointment as Branch Manager of Colombo of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology from Mr. Bhatiya Tissera, the Managing Director. The appointment was officially made on the 5th of July 2015 and Mr. Mevan Wickramasinghe was also present during this occasion. Major Malinda Samaraweera will operate under the Manager of the Department of Public Relations of the Java Institute, Mr. Darshana Dissanayake, who directly reports to the Head of the Department of Public Relations, Mr. Nirodha Rupasinghe.

Major Malinda Samaraweera, a Retired Major of the Sri Lankan Army, was awarded numerous military decorations and he has been able to achieve several milestones in his career, including the Wadamarachchi and Rivirasa Campaign Medals and other medals for military operations. The prolific period of service of Major Malinda Samaraweera in the Sri Lankan Army commenced in June 1986, three decades ago, and with time, he was promoted to the prestigious rank of Major Commission Officer. His honorable service in the Sri Lankan Army culminated in September 2006 and he has since worked at numerous other companies.

Major Malinda Samaraweera has held a number of designations at various reputed organizations, from companies operating in the Sri Lankan automobile industry to organizations in the Military sector. Apart from his extensive and honorable service at the Sri Lankan Army, Major Malinda Samaraweera was also employed at Associated Motor Ways (Pvt) Ltd and Uni-walkers Company Ltd and then in Sri Lankan companies.

Moving on to the personal life of Major Malinda Samaraweera, the newly appointed Colombo Branch Manager of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology, has a loving family, including a son who is currently preparing to study overseas. Furthermore, Major Malinda Samaraweera attended Sri Jayewardene Pura Maha Vidyalaya and then the Sri Lanka Military Academy and Officer's Training School in Pakistan. In addition to this, Major Malinda Samaraweera possesses a number of academic qualifications pertaining to a diverse range of subject areas, and these qualifications are presented below.
