Opening of the FCS
The Faculty of Creative Studies (FCS) of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology was ceremonially declared open on the 28th of February, 2013, with a declaration issued to this effect by Dr. Bevan Morris, the President of the Maharishi University of Management, USA, and Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, in the presence of Dr. Ishantha Siribaddana, the founder of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology, and Professor Lakshman Madurasinghe, the Head of the Faculty. Professor Lakshman Madurasinghe (Attorney-at-Law, MA, Ms (Psy), DBA (Strategy), PhD (Psy)) will head the Faculty of Creative Studies of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology.

The courses offered by the Faculty of Creative Studies are designed to allow students to rigorously explore or even modify a field of knowledge, rather than merely expose them to a predetermined quantity of fixed subject matter through intense creative work and research. The Faculty of Creative Studies will allow students to follow highly recognised training programmes at the Java Institute. Furthermore, this faculty as well as the staff will assist students to find highly appropriate and enriching research experiences.

Several departments operate within the Faculty of Creative Studies of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology and these include the Department of Consciousness Based Education, the Department of Brain Technology, and the Department of Neuroscience.
